Our Epoxy Countertop Process

At Artisan Design Concepts, we offer two distinct options for stunning, durable epoxy countertops—custom fabrication from scratch or pour-over refinishing on an existing surface. Both deliver exceptional results, and we’ll help you decide which one best fits your space, timeline, and budget.

1. Project Consultation & Estimate

We start with a consultation to review your current layout, take measurements, and explore your vision. Whether you’re working with existing surfaces or starting from scratch, we’ll guide you through our custom colors, finishes, and edge profiles to create a design that fits your style and needs.

Option A: New Custom Fabrication

Perfect for full kitchen or bathroom remodels, new builds, or when you want a complete transformation.

2A. Demolition & Prep
We handle the removal and haul-away of existing countertops, including tile, laminate, or stone. If needed, we’ll also install a new subtop to create the proper foundation for your new surface.

3A. Building the Base
We custom-cut and build the countertop substrate (usually MDF or plywood) to your specifications, including sink and appliance cutouts, edge details, and any backsplashes or custom features.

4A. Surface Prep & Priming
The base is primed with a high-adhesion coating to ensure a strong, lasting bond with the epoxy resin.

5A. Epoxy Design Pour
We mix and pour the epoxy resin with your chosen colors and effects—creating the look of natural stone, marble, or bold custom designs. The epoxy is leveled and manipulated to achieve your desired finish.

6A. Curing & Topcoat
Once the design has cured, we apply a protective urethane topcoat for added durability, scratch resistance, and UV stability. Choose from matte or gloss finishes.

7A. Final Installation
We return to install your finished countertops and also handle installation of your sink, faucet, and stovetop. If plumbing is involved, our handyman division provides full disconnect and reconnect services, ensuring everything is done safely and up to code.

Option B: Pour-Over Refinishing

Ideal for updating older countertops without full demo.

2B. Surface Evaluation & Prep
We inspect the existing counters to confirm they’re stable and structurally sound. After thorough sanding and cleaning, we apply a bonding primer to prep the surface for epoxy. (Prep process will differ depending on the original substrate.)

3B. Design Pour
The epoxy resin is poured and artistically manipulated over the existing surface, allowing us to create rich designs, color veining, and layered effects that mimic high-end materials.

4B. Curing & Topcoat
Once the design has cured, we apply a protective urethane topcoat for added durability, scratch resistance, and UV stability. Choose from matte or gloss finishes.

5B. Final Install & Hookups
After curing, we install your sink, faucet, and stovetop as needed. Our handyman team handles all necessary plumbing disconnects and reconnects, so everything is seamless from start to finish.

The Artisan Difference

Whether we’re starting fresh or transforming what you already have, our epoxy countertops are food-safe, heat-resistant, and easy to clean. With proper care, your new surfaces will stay beautiful and functional for years to come.
